'Roos Perform Well at Hendrix Classic

CONWAY, Ark. - The Austin College swimming and diving teams had an outstanding showing at the 51st Annual Hendrix Classic on Saturday, with the men finishing second out of six teams at the event with 282.5 points and the women finishing fourth out of eight teams with 261 points.

Colton Baker won twice in the diving events, scoring 157.15 in the 1-meter dive and 145.05 in the 3-meter event. Chris Hill, Chris Brown, and Max Saenz all had strong performances at the meet, as each swimmer picked up a third place finish. Saenz finished third in the 50 free with a time of 22.44, and Hill had a third place finish in the 100 free with a time of 49.79. Brown got his third place finish in the 200 backstroke, coming in with a time of 2:04.67. Only NCAA Division II program Henderson State finished ahead of the 'Roos in the final standings.

On the women's side, Brooke Le took fourth in the 50 free to lead the 'Roos, coming in with a time of 26.0, and Sophie Garriga took fifth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:29.44. Chloe Hunt added a pair of sixth place finishes in the 100 and 200 freestyle events, touching with times of 58.38 and 2:08.0, respectively. Jade Kemp added a seventh place finish in the 1000 free, coming in with a time of 12:24.15.
