Brown and Vu Make History for 'Roos on Day Two of SCAC Swim Meet

THE COLONY, Texas - Chris Brown became the first Austin College men's swimmer to ever medal twice at the same Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Meet on Thursday, and Collin Vu quickly followed as the second as the 'Roos had the strongest day at the conference championship in program history.

The 'Roos are fifth at the championship heading into Friday's day three at the Lewisville Eastside Aquatic Center with 142 points, just a single point behind Centenary for fourth. Brown opened prelims on Thursday morning by breaking the school's 200 individual medley record, and in Thursday night's final shattered that same mark with a time of 1:45.23, good for second place and All-Conference honors. Brown also earned All-SCAC recognition as part of the 'Roo relay team that took third in the 200 free relay, with Colton Baker, Tyler Brown, and Vu joining him in a time of 1:27.59. Vu's time of 20.76 is the fastest 50 free split in program history.

Vu added a third place finish and All-Conference honors in the 50 freestyle to close out the night, touching with a time of 21.60 to earn the bronze.
