The Austin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams are both putting forward good swims after the first two events of the 2016 SCAC Championship Meet in Lewisville.

The 'Roo men placed fourth in the 800 yard freestyle relay, with the team of Josh Chanin, Jake Cole, Tyler Brown, and Collin Vu finishing with a time of 7:26.35. Austin College also had a fifth place finish in the men's 200 medley relay, with Erik Gentzel, Chanin, Amit Pullarkat, and Vu coming in with a time of 1:38.40.

On the women's side, the relay team of Lauren Wheeler, Bailey Clark, Caitlyn Brugger, and Sarah Mann had an eighth place finish with a time of 2:01.84 in the 200 medley relay. In the 800 freestyle relay, Wheeler, Mandi Sarembock, Jade Ross, and Mann finished sixth with a time of 9:09.52.

The championships will continue Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as the teams compete in the 200 freestyle relay before getting into individual events, beginning with the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, and 50 freestyle on Thursday night.
