
Catchpole, Spencer Earn Academic All-District

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College men's soccer players Louis Catchpole and Sam Spencer have been selected as Academic All-District picks for their outstanding performances both athletically and academically. This is the second consecutive year both players have earned this honor.
The 2024 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Catchpole, a senior forward originally from Kent, England, was named first team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this season after finishing second in the league in goals, and earned his CSC Academic All-District recognition with a grade-point-average of 3.56 as a business major.
Spencer, a junior defender from Heath, was an honorable mention All-SCAC selection after finishing among the conference leaders with seven assists, while also adding four goals this season. He earned his CSC Academic All-District recognition with a 3.58 grade-point-average as a neuroscience major.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
