
Men's Soccer Falls to No. 5 Colorado College
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision on the road at No. 5-ranked Colorado College on Friday, bringing the 'Roos to 6-11-2 overall and 4-5-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision on the road at No. 5-ranked Colorado College on Friday, bringing the 'Roos to 6-11-2 overall and 4-5-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
Colorado College scored three times in each half, with Oliver Ramirez striking first in the 27th minute of action and Will Bavier following up just over four minutes later to make it 2-0. The margin grew to 3-0 on a tally by Zeke Lubin in the 36th minute to send the 'Roos into the half down 3-0. The Tigers used a 10-to-1 shot advantage in the opening 45 minutes to help build their lead.
The Tigers struck twice early in the second half to push the margin to 5-0, with Vincent Luglio scoring in the 51st minute and Alex Meyerhoff following three minutes later. Austin College broke through and got onto the scoreboard just two minutes after the goal by Meyerhoff, with Pierce Wear finding Sam Spencer for the score to make it 5-1. That remained the score until the 73:31 mark, when Dylan Rich added one more goal for Colorado College.
Colorado College finished the match with a 28-to-4 shot advantage, including 16-to-3 in shots on goal. Jayson Baldwin had nine saves in goal for the 'Roos, and Alex Wolter made two stops for the Tigers. Austin College heads to Houston on Sunday to take on the University of St. Thomas at noon.
