LONGVIEW, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team out-shot LeTourneau University 24-to-8 in a Saturday evening road match, but a second half goal by the Jackets led to a 1-0 loss for the 'Roos in non-conference action.

LONGVIEW, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team out-shot LeTourneau University 24-to-8 in a Saturday evening road match, but a second half goal by the Jackets led to a 1-0 loss for the 'Roos in non-conference action.
The 'Roos had eight shots on goal compared to just two for LeTourneau, and Austin College fired 18 shots after halftime but the Jackets managed to turn away the offensive efforts throughout the night. LeTourneau keeper Edson Camara Martinez made eight saves in goal, and after a scoreless first half, the difference would come from Emad Mohamed in the 60th minute, on an assist by Caleb Nelson.
Austin College tried to rally late, taking six shots in the final eight minutes of action, and had two opportunities in the last minute and a half but the 'Roos were unable to find the equalizer. The 'Roos will be looking to rebound on Saturday, when they host the University of Dallas for their first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match of the season. That game is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
