Late Goals Lift Ozarks Past 'Roo Men

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Austin College men's soccer team got on the scoreboard first, but a pair of second half goals for the University of Ozarks lifted the Eagles past the 'Roos by a final score of 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 1-5-1 overall on the year.

The first half was a defensive battle, with the teams combining for just seven shot attempts and taking a scoreless draw into halftime. The match remained scoreless until the 61st minute, when Louis Catchpole headed one home off an assist from Logan Newman to put the 'Roos ahead 1-0. However, the lead was short-lived, as Ozarks tied things up a minute later, and the Eagles would take the lead in the 66th minute on a goal by Francisco Horta.

The 'Roos held a 5-to-4 shot advantage in the second half, but were unable to even things up in the final 20 minutes of action. Both teams finished with eight shot attempts, and Connor Tullis made four saves for Austin College while Caleb Anderson had four stops for the Eagles, who improved to 5-0-2.
