Men's Soccer Falls in Season Opener

RICHARDSON, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team went into halftime all square with the University of Texas-Dallas, but a three-goal second half for the Comets made it a 4-1 final on Wednesday afternoon in the season opener for the 'Roos.

UT-Dallas took an early lead with a tally at the 12:05 mark, but Austin College equalized eight minutes later when Ivan Barrios scored on a feed from Daniel Gomez. The game remained even through halftime, but the Comets scored just 52 seconds into the second frame to make it a 2-1 game. Seven minutes later, UTD scored again to make it 3-1, and the Comets would add one more in the 69th minute to make it a 4-1 final.

UT-Dallas held a 20-3 shot advantage in the match, along with a 9-2 edge in corner kicks. Connor Tullis made nine saves in goal for Austin College. The 'Roos are home on Saturday evening when they host LeTourneau University at 7:30 p.m.
