Men's Soccer Falls to Dallas

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team jumped out to an early lead but three unanswered goals for the University of Dallas lifted the Crusaders past the 'Roos 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. The 'Roos fall to 0-4 with the defeat.

Austin College struck quickly in the game, with Mickey Maloney beating several defenders along the endline before finding Jacob Tekle for the finish to make it 1-0 less than two minutes into the game. However, the Crusaders scored twice in rapid succession late in the half to take a 2-1 lead into the break, finding the net in the 35th minute and then again just over a minute later. Both first half goals for the Crusaders came from the foot of Brady McNamara.

The score remained 2-1 until the 75th minute of action, when UD's Karson Pannell found the back of the net in a one-on-one situation with Austin College keeper Aaron Hoffman to put the Crusaders ahead 3-1, and that's how things would stay. Dallas owned a 16-to-13 shot edge in the game, with Hoffman making five saves for the 'Roos.
