Men's Soccer Falls in SCAC Semifinals

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Saturday in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals, falling 2-0 to top-seeded Colorado College on the campus of host school Trinity University. The 'Roos finish the year with a record of 7-11-1 overall.

The game was a defensive battle through the first 30 minutes of action before Colorado College got on the board with a goal by Will Mallory in the 33rd minute, and the Tigers would take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Colorado College held a 9-to-5 shot advantage in the first half, but the Tigers were able to take control more as the second half progressed, out-shooting the 'Roos 13-to-2 after the break. The Austin College defense managed to keep the Tigers at bay for most of the second half and keep it a one goal margin, but John Schuler tallied in the 84th minute to put the Tigers ahead by two goals and seal the game.

Juan Rodriguez made four saves for Austin College and Connor Tullis had two, while Keller Mochel had two saves for Colorado College to shut out the 'Roos.
