Three from Men's Soccer Earn All-SCAC

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. –Austin College men's soccer players Joseph Khalaf and Phillip Le have been named first team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and Colin Saum was picked as an honorable mention selection, the league office has announced. 

Khalaf, a senior goalkeeper from Sherman, was named first team All-SCAC for the third straight year and was also the runner-up for the conference's Defensive Player of the Year award. Khalaf had six shutouts this season, with a 1.05 goals-against-average and 51 saves. He also boasted a .761 save percentage. 

Le, a senior midfielder from Frisco, was also named to the first team for the third straight year after leading the 'Roos in goals, assists, and total points. Le finished tied for third in the conference with seven goals and was second with six assists, putting him at 20 total points, the third highest total in the SCAC during the regular season.

Saum, a sophomore defender from McKinney, started every game for the 'Roos as the anchor for a defense that allowed just 20 goals in 15 games this year. Saum and the Austin College defense also limited opponents to an average of 11.8 shots-per-game.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
