IRVING, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team led top-seeded and No. 2-ranked Trinity for most of Saturday's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference semifinal match, but two late penalty kicks allowed the Tigers to advance past the 'Roos. Austin College finishes the year with a record of 8-7-5.

The game was scoreless through the first 35 minutes, but Garrett Matacale found Thomas Quick with a through ball in the 36th minute and Quick put it home for his 11th tally of the year to make it 1-0. That score would hold until the 84th minute, when Trinity was awarded a penalty kick and Christian Sakshaug was able to finish to square things up. The match seemed to be headed to overtime, but with just 15 seconds to play, the referee awarded the Tigers another penalty kick, and this time Brady Johnston was able to put it in for Trinity to make it a 2-1 final.

Austin College was out-shot 23-8 in the match, with Joseph Khalaf making eight saves for the 'Roos in an outstanding overall team defensive effort.
