Austin College Men's Soccer Falls to Dallas

SHERMAN, Texas – The University of Dallas scored a pair of early goals and the Austin College men's soccer team was never able to recover, falling 4-0 to the visiting Crusaders on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 6-5-4 overall and 4-4-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Dallas got on the board just over six minutes into the game, when a throw-in by Eric Haigh fell into the box and Hunter Haugland punched it in from point blank to make it 1-0. The Crusaders would add their second goal 14 minutes later, with Nat Kajiwara scoring in close to make it 2-0 heading into halftime.

Austin College found a strong opportunity to cut into the Dallas margin early in the second half as Jack Wheaton played a ball across the goalmouth to Phillip Le, but Le's shot hit the post. Kajiwara scored just a minute and a half later on a rebound from a free kick to make it 3-0 and keep the momentum in UD's favor. The Crusaders would get their final goal of the game in the 61st minute as Kajiwara found Haugland for his second score of the game.

Dallas held a 20-11 advantage in shots, putting 14 on goal compared to four for the 'Roos. Joseph Khalaf made seven saves for Austin College, and Juan Rodriguez made two after coming on in with 29:09 remaining. Sean Carlin made four stops for Dallas.
