Men's Soccer Earns Draw with Dallas

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College men's soccer team went back and forth with the University of Dallas but neither team was able to punch in a goal, settling for a 0-0 double overtime draw on Friday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 9-6-2 overall and 6-5-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Dallas came out aggressive offensively, controlling much of the action with 13 shots against six for the 'Roos in the opening half. However, the 'Roos kept the Crusaders at bay, with Joseph Khalaf coming up with several big saves to keep things even through two full periods. Khalaf added two key saves in the first overtime period, while Austin College got a strong chance in the second overtime but Thomas Quick's shot was saved.

The Crusaders held a 21-9 edge in shots in the match, as Khalaf made seven saves to earn his sixth clean sheet of the season. The 'Roos will close out the home portion of the schedule on Sunday as they host No. 20-ranked Colorado College at 1:00 p.m.
