'Roo Men Knock Off Schreiner with Late Goal

Phillip Lee tallied with less than a minute remaining in regulation to give the Austin College men's soccer team a 1-0 victory at Schreiner on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 9-6-1 overall and 6-5 in SCAC play with the win.

Austin College came out aggressively on offense from the start, but were turned away continually by the Schreiner defense. The 'Roos out-shot the Mountaineers 11-3 before halftime but couldn't quite break through, and the two teams would take a scoreless match into the break.

The game seemed to be headed to overtime with both teams continuing to be blanked on offense, when Thomas Quick found Le in the game's final moments and the sophomore scored with just 45 seconds remaining. It was the 12th goal of the season for Le, adding to his SCAC-best total.

The 'Roos out-shot Schreiner 17-7 in the match, with Joseph Khalaf making three saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season.
