Celio Breaks SCAC Record in Loss to No. 2 Trinity

Austin College men's soccer player Andrew Celio set a new Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record with 22 saves, but it wasn't enough in a 6-0 loss to No. 2-ranked Trinity on Friday night in San Antonio. The 'Roos are now 1-12-4 overall and 1-9-2 in conference play.

Led by a strong performance from Celio, playing on the road in his hometown for the last time in his four year career, the 'Roos trailed the high powered Tigers just 1-0 after the first half. However, the Trinity offense kicked into high gear in the second half, scoring five times between the 63rd and 89th minutes and firing off 54 shots overall in the game to open things up and topple the 'Roos.

Celio made 14 of his 22 saves in the second half as the 'Roos were out-shot 54-5 in the game by the Tigers, who are now 16-1 on the year. The previous record for saves in a single game was 20, set in 1997.
