No. 3 Trinity's Offense Too Much for 'Roo Men's Soccer

The Austin College men's soccer team came out strong but the explosive offensive attack of No 3-ranked Trinity University proved to be too much, as the Tigers toppled the 'Roos 7-0 on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the 'Roos fall to 0-4-2 overall and 0-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Lawson tallied again in the 24th minute to make it 2-0, and the Tigers looked to be on the verge of adding another goal when Andrew Celio made an outstanding save on a penalty kick.

The Tigers would tally once more in the half, with Derrick Horvath finishing a cross at the 43:47 mark to send the 'Roos into the break trailing 3-0. Goncalo Santana tallied just under seven minutes into the second half, and Tom Carwile added another goal in the 60th minute as Trinity extended the lead to 5-0.

Trinity would add two late goals in the 85th and 89th minutes of action to make it a 7-0 final. For the game, Trinity out-shot the 'Roos 42-4, with Austin College keeper Andrew Celio making 11 stops for the 'Roos.
