'Roo Men's Soccer Blanks LeTourneau

The Austin College men's soccer team shut out visiting LeTourneau University on their way to the team's first victory of the season, topping the Jackets 1-0 on a second half goal by Caleb Sherer to improve to 1-1-1 overall this season.

Austin College dominated possession for much of the game, owning a 24-11 shot advantage and earning six corner kicks, but the 'Roos were unable to capitalize on several quality scoring chances early. However, in the 58th minute of action Daniel Graham found Sherer, who just managed to beat LeTourneau keeper Anthony Martinez to the ball and punched it in for what would be the game winner.

Andrew Celio made five stops in the net for Austin College while Martinez stopped eight shots for LeTourneau in the game. The 'Roos take the field again on Sunday when they host East Texas Baptist at 2:00 p.m.
