
Three From 'Roo Men's Hoops Named All-SCAC
IRVING, Texas - Austin College men's basketball players Jackson Rennie, Jamien June, and Kidus Getenet have been named All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performers for their outstanding play in the 2024-25 season, the league office has announced.
IRVING, Texas - Austin College men's basketball players Jackson Rennie, Jamien June, and Kidus Getenet have been named All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performers for their outstanding play in the 2024-25 season, the league office has announced.
Rennie, a senior guard from Colleyville, led the 'Roos and finished among the conference leaders in scoring on his way to being named third team All-SCAC, averaging 17.2 points-per-game while setting a new conference record by finishing the year at 100% from the free throw line, making all 48 of his attempts. He also had one of the most prolific three point shooting seasons in conference history, knocking down 88 triples with a 40.4% percentage, and added 2.5 rebounds-per-game.
June, a sophomore guard from Grand Prairie, was an honorable mention All-SCAC pick following a year in which he finished second on the team with 14.5 points-per-game and hit 40.8% from beyond the arc, as well as 46.5% from the field and 77.7% from the free throw line. June also tied for the team lead with 3.2 assists-per-game, and added 3.9 rebounds-per-game on the year.
Getenet, a junior wing from Allen, was another honorable mention All-Conference pick after finishing third on the team with 14.0 points-per-game and adding 5.3 rebounds-per-game, good for second on the team. Getenet added 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals-per-game, and shot 44.6% from the field, 38% from long range, and 79.2% from the free throw line over the course of the season.
