'Roos Fall to No. 18-ranked St. Thomas

Kidus Getenet scored 19 points to pace the 'Roos, while Jamien June chipped in 15, and Jackson Rennie scored eight to push him over 1,000 career points, with his first basket of the game getting him to that milestone. Getenet shot 6-of-7 overall and 3-of-4 from long range, while June made 9-of-10 free throws to help him get to 15 points. Austin College closed the gap to 56-49 midway through the second half, but the Celts scored the next five points to push it back to double-digits and the 'Roos were unable to recover.
St. Thomas hounded the 'Roos into 22 turnovers while giving it away just eight times themselves, shooting 50% as a team and outscoring Austin College 25-19 from the free throw line as well, while the 'Roos shot 40% from the field. The 'Roos were 4-of-15 from three, while UST was 6-of-20. Marion Williams came off the bench to score a game-high 22 points to lead the Celts, knocking down 6-of-13 shots and all eight of his free throw attempts, and Angel Johnson had 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, and four steals.
