'Roos Come Up Short at Hendrix
CONWAY, Ark. - The Austin College men's basketball team found itself in a big hole early against Hendrix College, and was unable to come all the way back in a 73-71 road loss on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 4-2 overall on the year.

After trailing 29-8 with eight and a half minutes left in the opening half, Austin College went into the locker room down 39-27. The Warriors maintained a double-digit lead for most of the first 10 minutes of the second half, grabbing a 58-45 advantage with 10:15 left to play but the 'Roos battled back to get to within 58-56. Aidan Schnurr knocked down a pair of threes during Austin College's 11-0 run to get back to a one possession game with 7:50 on the clock.
Ethan Pearce gave the 'Roos a 69-68 lead and after the Warriors went back on top, Pearce scored again to make it 71-70 with 1:46 to play. However, that wound up being the last bucket of the game for Austin College, and Hendrix got a three-point-play from Jaxon Herrera with four seconds left to give the Warriors the win. Pearce scored 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting, adding eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocked shots in the loss, and Schnurr came off the bench to hit 5-of-5 from long range on his way to 19 points. Getenet chipped in 15 points. Beau Kronenberger led Hendrix with 16 points.
