
Williams Named to NABC Honors Court
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Austin College men's basketball player Nate Williams has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2023-24 Honors Court for his outstanding performance in the classroom, the organization has announced.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Austin College men's basketball player Nate Williams has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2023-24 Honors Court for his outstanding performance in the classroom, the organization has announced.
Williams, a junior guard from Cave Creek, Ariz., is a business administration major and appeared in 21 games in his second season in Sherman. Williams started nine games for the 'Roos, averaging 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists-per-game, reaching double figures in the scoring column three times with a season-high of 16 points in a win over Howard Payne. He's also a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
- Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
- Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2021-22 academic year.
- Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
- Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I institution with a NABC member coach.
