Centenary Tops 'Roo Men's Hoops
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's basketball team fell 70-45 to Centenary College on Saturday evening in Hughey Gym, as the Gents built a 34-20 halftime lead and never looked back. The 'Roos are now 8-14 overall and 3-10 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

The 'Roos hit just 26.5% of their field goal attempts in the game, including connecting on only 4-of-23 from beyond the arc. The Gents also outscored Austin College 18-11 from the free throw line and held a 48-39 advantage on the boards, with 19 of those coming on the offensive glass. Those offensive rebounds enabled Centenary to outscore the 'Roos 15-10 on second chance points, and the Gents also held an 18-8 advantage in points off of turnovers as they forced the 'Roos to give the ball away 16 times in the game.
It was a 45-32 game with 10:58 left to play, but Centenary scored six quick points to push it to 51-32. After the 'Roos cut it to 55-41 a few minutes later, the Gents responded with a 13-0 run to make it 68-41 and put the game away for good.
Nate Williams was the lone 'Roo to reach double figures, scoring 11 points off the bench while adding six rebounds. Tristan Dick added nine points and six boards, and Kidus Getenet and Jordan Hudgins each chipped in six points, with Hudgins also pulling down eight rebounds. Seth Thomas had 18 points and 10 rebounds to pace Centenary.
