'Roos Earn Road Win at Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark. - The Austin College men's basketball team picked up a 66-60 road victory at Hendrix College on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action. The 'Roos are now 4-6 overall on the season.

Kidus Getenet led the 'Roos with 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. He also added five rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a blocked shot in the victory. Austin College trailed 32-30 at halftime, but Getenet and Jackson Rennie combined for 21 points after the break to help the 'Roos pull out the win. Austin College took the lead at 47-44 on a three from Rennie with 8:20 left to play, and another triple from Rennie made it 50-45 a minute later.

The Warriors pulled to within one point at 57-56 with 2:16 left, but Rennie buried another trey to make it 60-56 and the 'Roos would lead by at least four points the rest of the way. Rennie came off the bench to score 16, hitting 4-of-8 attempts from long range. Jason Jones Jr. added eight points and Nate Williams chipped in seven, and Jordan Hudgins pulled down a team-best eight rebounds. 

Austin College is back in action on Tuesday, when they host Ripon at 3:00 p.m. in Hughey Gym.
