'Roo Men Fall to Centenary in Overtime

The Austin College men's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker in overtime at Centenary on Saturday night, falling 102-98 to the Gents in the final game of the season for the 'Roos. Austin College finishes the year with a record of 6-19 overall.

Austin College had six players in double figures, with members of the senior class combining for 78 of the team's 98 points in their final college game. Austin Freet led the way with 17 points and added nine rebounds, while Jeremy Swisher added 14 points, Brian Baehl had 13, Stephen Igbinosa scored 12, and Josh Dickerman and Andres Rivera had 11 points apiece.

Austin College led 44-40 at halftime, but after Centenary squared things at 89-89 at the end of regulation the 'Roos were unable to get a game-winner despite two chances late. In the overtime period, the 'Roos took a 98-97 lead with under a minute left on a Dickerman free throw but Centenary would score the final five points to hand the 'Roos the defeat.
