Men's Hoops Falls to Schreiner

The Austin College men's basketball team held a three point halftime lead but couldn't hang on, falling 66-63 to Schreiner University on Saturday. The 'Roos fall to 7-16 overall and 3-10 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the loss.

The 'Roos got strong first half performances from Cedric Hudson and Brian Baehl offensively, with each playing scoring eight in the opening 20 minutes. The 'Roos hit just 2-of-9 threes in the half, but hounded Schreiner into eight first half turnovers to help take a 32-29 halftime lead. However, in the second half the Mountaineers shot 50% from the field and outscored the 'Roos 16-11 at the free throw line to hand the 'Roos the loss.

Baehl finished with 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists to lead the 'Roos, and Kevin Graham scored 14 in the loss. Hudson finished the game with 11 points.
