The Austin College men's basketball team suffered its second defeat in a row on Sunday, falling 82-72 at Centenary College despite a 19 point, nine rebound effort from Austin Freet. The 'Roos are now 7-8 overall and 3-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

After falling behind early the 'Roos battled back, eventually grabbing the lead at 11-10 on an Aaron Anwary three pointer. Centenary tied things up at 15 apiece with 11:42 left in the opening half, but an 8-0 run for Austin College made it a 23-15 game on a layup by Kevin Graham at the 8:20 mark.

However, a 14-2 run for the Gents would put the host team on top 29-25, and after Austin College pulled to within two at 32-30, Centenary would score the final seven points of the half to head to the locker room leading 39-30. Austin College came out strong in the second half and trimmed it to a 43-41 Centenary lead on a basket by Cedric Hudson.

With Centenary leading 49-47 with 13:42 left in the game, the Gents would use a 12-0 run to push the lead to 61-47 and the lead would grow to as much as 17 twice down the stretch. Austin College was unable to back to single digits the rest of the way.

Freet hit 7-of-15 shots to get his team-leading 19, and Alan Sullivan added 17 points and four boards, hitting 3-of-6 three pointers. Jeremy Swisher added seven points and seven rebounds in the loss.

Kendall Demouchet led all scorers with 33 points for Centenary.
