No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan Too Much for 'Roo Men

The Austin College men's basketball team struggled to find an offensive rhythm and No. 4-ranked Illinois Wesleyan buried 18 three pointers to hand the 'Roos an 85-57 defeat on Saturday afternoon in Memphis. The 'Roos are now 2-2 overall with the loss.

The 'Roos shot just 31.7% from the field and hit only 2-of-22 three pointers, and Illinois Wesleyan also owned a 46-35 edge on the glass. Austin College found themselves trailing 49-22 at halftime after IWU knocked down 11-of-21 threes in the opening frame, while the 'Roos managed to shoot just 22.2% from the field in the half. 

Brian Baehl and Cedric Hudson each scored nine points to lead Austin College, as 12 players got into the scoring column for the 'Roos. Alan Sullivan and Andres Rivera each scored seven, and Austin Freet grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.

Illionis Wesleyan's Bryce Dolan hit 7-of-12 threes and led all scorers with 21 points, including 18 in the first half.

Austin College will be looking to rebound tomorrow when they take on Rhodes at 2:00 p.m.
