Men's Hoops Edged by Dallas, 76-69

The Austin College men's basketball team trailed by two with 28 seconds remaining but was unable to overcome the University of Dallas, falling 76-69 on Sunday afternoon in Irving. The 'Roos are now 4-7 overall and 0-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the loss.

A pair of Ransom Okpala three pointers helped the 'Roos jump out to a 20-17 lead early, and the lead grew to 27-19 following five quick points from Alan Sullivan before the Crusaders battled back to square things at 29 apiece. Dallas jumped out in front and went into the locker room leading 38-35.

Dallas led by as much as 12 in the second half but two three pointers from Brian Baehl helped trim the margin to 62-60 with 4:59 left, but the 'Roos were unable to get the deficit under two the rest of the way. Okpala finished the game with 19 points and Jeremy Swisher added 14. Baehl hit 3-of-6 threes to finish with nine points.

Austin College hit just 8-of-30 triples in the game, and also struggled from the foul line, hitting 19-of-33 attempts. Dallas also held a 51-36 rebounding advantage in the game.
