'Roo Men's Hoops Falls to Nebraska Wesleyan

The Austin College men's basketball team fell in a nine point hole at halftime and was unable to recover, falling 69-61 to Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 1-3 overall this season with the loss.

The 'Roos turned it over nine times and shot just 42.1% in the first half as they went into the locker room trailing 37-28 before trying to make a comeback after halftime. Antoine Thompson scored 10 of his 17 points after the break and the 'Roos outscored NWU 33-32, but it was not enough to overcome the halftime margin.

Thompson hit 7-of-10 shots and grabbed five rebounds and was named to the Nebraska Wesleyan All-Tournament Team for his effort in Austin College's two games over the weekend. Ransom Okpala drilled 3-of-3 threes on his way to 15 points and Jordan Hancock added 11 points in the loss.

The 'Roos are back in action on November 28 when they host the University of Texas-Dallas at 8:00 p.m.
