SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College football players Dakota Lowery and Caleb Balderas have been named the American Southwest Conference Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for their outstanding performance this past Saturday, the league office has announced.

Lowery, a freshman wide receiver from Gunter, had a big game for Austin College, catching five passes for a career-best 119 yards and his second career touchdown. Lowery had a long of 44 yards on his touchdown reception, his second deep touchdown catch in the last two games. His contributions led the 'Roos to their first win of the season, 34-23 at Crown.

Balderas, a sophomore kicker from Azle, saw significant action for the first time in his collegiate career on Saturday against Crown, converting on all four of his field goal attempts and the only PAT he was tasked with kicking. Balderas hit two of his field goals from 42 yards out, which those 12 points proved the difference in a 34-23 victory, which was the first for the 'Roos.
