RICHARDSON, Texas - The American Southwest Conference has released its Academic All-Conference teams for the 2022-23 academic year as well as its Distinguished Scholar-Athletes for each sport, and 40 'Roo football players earned academic accolades while Tyler James was Austin College's representative on the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team for football.

James, a graduate student quarterback and punter, earned a spot on the Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team in addition to being named Academic All-Conference. Joining James as an All-Academic selection were Trey Adams, John Aldridge, Ethan Baker, Caleb Balderas, Luis Balderas, Ryan Bogenreif, Grayson Brautigam, and Makkedah Brown.

Also earning a spot on the All-Academic list were Pablo Cantu, Nick Chevalier, Jeremiah Contreras, Evan Dennis, Tiger Dietz, James Drenner, Brady Dygert, Seth Fulenchek, Hunter Fulton, and Tim Gauthier. Other 'Roos to receive this honor include Nicholas Giambalvo, Texas Gordon, Tyler Hanes, Michael Hare, Jacob Hoffman, Sebastian Loredo-Awmiller, Kennon Magers, Ryan Mark, Dauvo McDonald, Kaden McFarland, and Ben Meraz.

Rounding out the list of 'Roo football players to earn Academic All-Conference were Colin Mushinski, Jack Nelson, Samuel Nesmith, Jarrett Pleasant, Rylan Ritch, Eliel Sandoval, Timothy Turkett, Diego Valdez, Kellen Vickery, and Chris Walstad.
