James Named AP All-America

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College football player Tyler James has been named second team All-America by the Associated Press, the organization has announced.

James, a fifth-year punter from Wills Point, finished third in the nation in punting average with 43.44 yards-per-attempt. He led the American Southwest Conference in punting en route to being named first team All-ASC. He had a long punt of 72 yards this season, as well as 13 punts pinning opposing teams inside their own 20-yard line. In addition to his success on the field, James was also recently recognized as a CSC Academic All-District honoree for his outstanding performance in the classroom.

This is the second time James has earned All-America recognition, after having been named first team All-America by the AFCA in 2021. This season, James was also selected second team All-Region by D3football.com.
