'Roos Perform Well at NCA Nationals

DAYTONA, Fla. - The Austin College cheer team made history over the weekend as the 'Roos participated in the NCA College National Championships for the first time in program history. The 'Roos performed well in their inaugural trip, finishing sixth in the Intermediate Small Coed Division III competition.

Other competitors in Ausitn College's division included UT-Dallas, New York University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The 'Roos finished with an event score of 85.2446, and that mark put them ahead of MIT, and just behind Montclair State University. It was a tightly contested event, with only four points separating Austin College from a top three national finish.

The NCA College National Championships hosted cheer and dance teams from throughout the country and across all collegiate levels, including NCAA Divisions I, II, and III as well as NAIA and junior college squads. This was Austin College's first year of competition as a varsity cheer team.
