
Lambright Named Assistant Baseball Coach
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College baseball program has brought back a familiar face to bolster its coaching staff, as athletics director David Norman has announced that former 'Roo pitcher Justin Lambright will serve as the team's new full-time assistant coach while also assisting with game day operations and field support for all athletics programs.
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College baseball program has brought back a familiar face to bolster its coaching staff, as athletics director David Norman has announced that former 'Roo pitcher Justin Lambright will serve as the team's new full-time assistant coach while also assisting with game day operations and field support for all athletics programs.
Lambright is a 2023 graduate of Austin College and is currently working toward his master's degree at the University of North Texas. Lambright was a two-year letter-winner for Austin College after transferring from Northeast Texas Community College, and during his time in Sherman he was a member of the Dean's list and Phi Theta Kappa, in addition to the student-athlete National Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma. Lambright graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in Education.
Lambright is a native of Trenton, where he was his high school's valedictorian, and during his time as a player for the 'Roos made 19 appearances, including 13 starts. Last season, he won a pair of games while striking out 36 batters in 40.1 innings pitched. Lambright will be working with the Austin College pitching staff in his role as an assistant under head coach Shawn Counts.
