SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College baseball team was limited to three hits and No. 1-ranked Trinity scored six runs combined in the fifth and sixth innings as the Tigers handed the 'Roos a 9-0 loss on Thursday evening. The 'Roos are now 4-10 overall and 0-7 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Jake Webster, Zack Mahoney, and Brandon Hill each collected a hit for the 'Roos and Jake Trapani took the loss for Austin College, surrendering two runs on five hits in 3.0 innings of work. The game was scoreless through two before Trinity's Brian Schaub doubled home a run in the bottom of the third, and another run would score in the inning to make it 2-0. Two more runs came across in the fifth, and a two-run double by Mason Meredith opened up a big inning for the Tigers as they pushed four runs across to make it an 8-0 game after six.

The Tigers would plate one more in the eighth on another RBI double from Schaub to make it 9-0, and that's where things would stand after nine. The 'Roos and Tigers will square off again on Friday with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
