The Austin College baseball team fell in a 3-0 hole after one inning and were unable to recover, falling 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon against Hendrix College. The 'Roos are now 4-18 with the loss.
Austin College was able to plate a pair of runs in the top of the second when Brooks Ward came home on a throwing error and then Alan Parrent brought James Arguello home with a sacrifice fly to make it 3-2, but runs by the Warriors in the fourth and sixth innings pushed it to a 5-2 game.
Arguello drove in Ward with a single to center in the top of the eighth to pull Austin College to within a pair at 5-3, but an RBI double in the bottom half of the inning put Hendrix up 6-3 and the 'Roos were unable to muster any further offense in their final at-bats of the game. Arguello finished 2-for-4 to lead the 'Roos offensively, while Mychael Parrish took the loss after surrendering four runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings of work.
