
Ayala-Hinojosa Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Jayden Ayala-Hinojosa.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Jayden Ayala-Hinojosa.
Ayala-Hinojosa, a freshman first baseman and designated hitter from Fort Worth, has made an immediate impact in his first collegiate season, quickly establishing himself as one of the top hitters in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a team-best .352 batting average while also ranking among the conference leaders and leading the team with 24 runs batted in. His 31 total hits are second best on the team, and he also boasts a .439 on-base percentage and a .489 slugging percentage. Ayala-Hinojosa also lead the 'Roos with nine doubles, and has one home run this season, while also scoring 13 runs.
