Villa, a freshman shortstop from Wichita Falls, has made an immediate impact in his first collegiate season, batting .345 while currently leading the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with 16 stolen bases. Villa has yet to be caught stealing this year, and has six more stolen bases than the next closest player in the conference. Over the last week, Villa has batted .389 with four stolen bases and seven runs scored in five games to help the 'Roos go 3-2 over that span, collecting at least one hit in all five contests.
Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
