Sanchez Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's tennis player Olivia Sanchez.

Sanchez, a freshman from San Antonio, provided the clincher in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest against McMurry, winning her match 6-0, 6-1 to lead the 'Roos to a 4-3 victory. She also won her No. 2 match against Division II opponent Sul Ross 6-0, 6-0 to help Austin College to the 7-0 sweep. Sanchez has been outstanding all season for the 'Roos, winning three singles matches this year including two against conference opponents, while adding a pair of doubles victories as well.
