
June Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Jamien June.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Jamien June.
June, a sophomore guard from South Grand Prairie, has made a big impact in his first season as a full-time starter, currently ranking second on the team with 12.8 points-per-game and is also tied for the team-lead with 3.2 assists-per-game, and has also pulled down 3.8 rebounds-per-game. June is currently shooting 46.1% from the field, 36.7% from three-point-range, and 75.6% from the free throw line. Last weekend against Colorado College and nationally ranked St. Thomas, he averaged 18.0 points-per-game while shooting 50% from the field, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, and made all 14 of his free throw attempts.
