Kovacs Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo volleyball player Laynie Kovacs.

Kovacs, a freshman libero from McKinney, had a big weekend as the 'Roos played four matches in Memphis at the Rhodes College Classic, going 3-1 overall as a team. Kovacs had three matches with double-digit digs, including 44 in a five-set match against Mary Hardin-Baylor. She also had 16 digs against Rhodes and 15 against Lyon on her way to being named to the All-Tournament Team.
