Joe Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Joshua Joe.

Joe, a junior guard from Hurst, had a big weekend for the 'Roos as they split their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference games against the University of Dallas and Colorado College. In a narrow two-point loss to the Crusaders, Joe poured in a career-best 28 points on 12-of-23 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. He added five rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals in the game. Joe followed that up with a 10 point, six rebound, four assist performance as the 'Roos picked up a 79-63 win over the visiting Tigers to wrap up the week. For the year, Joe is averaging 9.2 points, 3.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds-per-game.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
