O'Neil Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's basketball player Megan O'Neil.

O'Neil, a junior guard from Irving, had a career weekend for Austin College as she scored a career-best 39 points in a loss to Schreiner and followed that up with 12 points against Trinity. It was also a record-shattering weekend for O'Neil, who set a new Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference single-game mark with 13 three pointers against the Mountaineers, breaking the previous mark of 10. For the weekend, O'Neil finished 17-of-34 from beyond the arc in the team's two games. In her record-setting performance, O'Neil finished 13-of-24 from long range.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
