SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's soccer player Daniel Gomez.

Gomez, a sophomore midfielder from North Richland Hills, helped deliver Austin College's first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win of the season in a 1-0 victory over the University of Dallas on October 1. Gomez found the back of the net in the 86th minute of action against the Crusaders, lifting Austin College to the win. The tally was the first in Gomez's career.
