72 'Roos Earn SCAC Winter and Spring Academic Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Austin College athletics department saw 72 of its winter and spring student-athletes named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll for their outstanding performances in the classroom during the spring semester, the league office has announced.

To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

Among those to earn Winter Academic Honor Roll accolades were men's basketball players Chase Antosca, Chanston Goodman, Jason Jones Jr., Jonathan Lawrence, Christian Luera, and Aaron Rideaux. 

Also earning winter honors were women's basketball players Naomi Anamekwe, Hali Bailey, Marianna Bert, Lily Brown, Sarah Gwin, Carrie Johnson, Olivia Keyser, Natalie McCoy, Megan O'Neil, Katy Pool, Sarah Putnicki, Alexa Rhone, Lauren Traylor, and Kacie West.

Rounding out the winter honorees were swimmers Cody McCasland, Max Saenz, Kiara Bobb, Liberty Chanin, Chloe Hunt, Phoebe Nguyen, Keely Perry, and Sammi Thiele.

In addition to its 28 winter recipients, the 'Roos also placed 44 student-athletes on the Spring Academic Honor Roll. Included among those honorees were baseball players James Adams, Alex Angerstein, Ethan Baker, Logan Ballard, Beau Beshires, Ashton Cason, Jackson Chaviers, Austin Coe, Zack Czarnecky, Max Danielsen, Walker Davis, Sergio De Paoli, Brandon Evans, Brandon Hill, Scott Hosmer, Justin Lambright, Kyle Lemke, Christian McMurray, Jordan Miller, Asher Thompson, Jake Trapani, Jonathan Voos, Branson Vrazel, and Jake Webster.

Earning spring honors from softball were Avery Atencio, Lyndsey Busch, Vanessa Garcia, Carrie Johnson, Joli Kirkpatrick, Taylor Levan, Lauren Orozco, Aubri Dayle Smith, and Hailie Swiatkowski.

The 'Roos also had several men's and women's tennis players earn Academic Honor Roll status, including Yudai Abe, Luke Henley, Tate Nelson, Trey Salyer, Storm Simonin, and AJ Wueste from the men's side and Elena Aventa, Gigi Francis, Kylie Imperial, Sierra Thomas, and Tara Tran for the women.
