SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Zack Mahoney.

Mahoney, a senior third baseman and designated hitter from Corsicana, has been on a hitting tear of late. Last week as the 'Roos went 3-1 with a sweep of Blackburn and a loss to Howard Payne, he batted .538 with a .632 on-base percentage and a 1.385 slugging percentage. Mahoney had five extra base hits, including two doubles and three home runs, while driving in eight runs and scoring nine. He also drew five walks in the team's four games.
