SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Jason Jones.

Jones, a sophomore forward from Houston, was recently named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after averaging 13.5 points and 12.5 rebounds-per-game. Jones has been an impact player since arriving on campus last season, and has consistently ranked among the SCAC leaders in both rebounds and field goal percentage in each of his two years. In addition to averaging a double-double, Jones averaged 4.0 steals, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks-per-game in a pair of games on his way to earning weekly conference honors.
