SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo swimmer Max Saenz.

Saenz, a senior from McAllen, had four first place finishes in Austin College's home meet against Ozarks on Saturday. Saenz was part of the 400 medley relay team that took first place with a time of 3:53.47, and later added a first place finish in the 50 backstroke with a time of 26.55. Saenz, who serves as a captain on this year's swim team, took first in the 100 backstroke as well, touching with a time of 57.61, and rounded out his outstanding performance with a time of 24.48 in the 50 butterfly. That finishing time was also good for first place.
