SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Max Danielsen.

Danielsen, a junior pitcher from Richardson, was honored this week by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference as their male Character and Community Award winner for his community service and volunteer work. Danielsen, who is a member of Austin College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, has worked extensively with coaching youth baseball players, particularly in the 13U age group. He has also worked with the Buddy League in Garland, which allows children and adults with disabilities to play the game of baseball. Danielsen, an aspiring sports broadcaster, is also the play-by-play announcer for Austin College men's and women's basketball streams.
